Parisian Lentils – inspired by dinner I had at a fabulous little wine bar/restaurant called Au Passage in Paris.
Coffee BBQ rub- even if you aren’t a big coffee fan, it’s worth giving this a try on steaks. The flavor is a peppery & smoky BBQ.
Most people associate gratins with loads of cheese. Traditional French potato gratin is just made with potatoes and cream.
Quick steak & rocket salad- There’s something about having part of the meal served warm that makes it feel more substantial.
Addictive broad bean (fava bean) pesto.
Pork cutlet with romesco sauce- equally lovely with chicken, tuna or swordfish. Vegetarians will love it with grilled mushrooms.
Green pea curry – I like serving this in big bowls with spoons for scooping the sauce.
Chorizo with kale – Adapted from my favorite food writer, Nigel Slater in his latest book the Kitchen Diaries II.
‘Paleo’ banana bread – This banana ‘bread’ is super moist and really more at the cake end of the spectrum.
Croissant surprise birthday cake – If you’re wondering about the ‘surprise’ it’s all about a hidden layer of rich dark chocolate.
Cauliflower has to be one of the most underrated vegetables. Like its cousin broccoli, it’s chocked full of nutrients.
“Paleo” bread – if you’re after a hearty bread that’s also healthy then you’re in the right place.
Warm sprouted quinoa salad – I love the texture of sprouted quinoa.
Coconut chicken with greens – The gentle poaching in coconut milk here keeps the chicken breasts lovely and moist.
Quick pork ragu – I recommend seeking out a super good quality butcher who preferably makes their own sausages and trying them out.
Cumulus spiced eggs – these eggs are a simplified version of a dish served at one of my favourite Melbourne restaurants, Cumulus Inc.
Pea & pesto soup is a great ‘pantry’ recipe to have up your sleeve. It’s perfect for nights when you need dinner to be on the table
Simple fish stew – great with a fresh green salad on the side or crusty bread
